Club Mar Menor Golf Resort Padel academy star wins Regional Championship
A great result for Club MMGR junior pádel academy star crowned regional padel champion in the children's category
In the tournament played at the end of November, the student of the Club Mar Menor Golf Resort pádel academy, María García Alcaraz, was proclaimed Pádel Champion in the children's category of the Pádel Federation of the Region of Murcia (FPRM) Tournament.
In the FPRM tournament, María, together with playing partner Clara Alarcón from Murcia, won their matches with ease, the final score being 6-4 and 6-0.
With the victory in this tournament, María becomes the only Torre Pacheco resident to be Regional Champion in two consecutive years, last year in the juvenile category and this year in her debut in the children's category.
This is not the first time María has hit the pádel headlines after becoming the first representative from the Torre Pacheco area called up by the Murcian regional team to play in the national level children's category. Also, in January of 2024 Maria together with her playing partner Claudia Torres competed in and were proclaimed champions of the First stage event of the Region of Murcia Pádel competition in the junior's category at the Cartagena Pádel Club.

The Club MMGR sports and lesiure facility is located on the Mar Menor Golf Resort in the Region of Murcia.
Founded in 2008, the Club is one of the foremost centres for sports excellence in the south of Spain, and has lots to offer golfing, padel and football enthusiasts.They regularly have coaching sessions and great events for young and old alike in both English and Spanish at their football pitches, gym, swimming pool, 9-hole minigolf course and padel facilities, with world-class professional sportspeople coming to coach at the club.
There is also a café, bar and restaurant area where they host activities like dancing, concerts and fun themed nights, and they can help you to book to stay at the Mar Menor Golf Resort hotel or to take kayak, canoe, jet ski and water sports day trips out in the local area.Club MMGR opening times
The club is open from Monday to Friday, 7:00-23:00, and on Saturdays and Sundays, 08:00-23:00.
