Corvera Airport welcomes symbolic 1,200th flight in celebration of the 1,200th anniversary of Murcia city
In a fortuitous coincidence, the Ryanair arrival from Birmingham marked a unique tribute to the city’s historic milestone

The numerical match between the flight number and the number of years since Murcia’s establishment in the year AD 825 sparked a commemorative act at the airport, organised as part of the wider “Murcia 1200” initiative. The crew of the flight, which carried around 162 passengers, was warmly received on the tarmac by the Councillor for Tourism and Commerce, Jesús Pacheco, the Councillor for Sports, Miguel Ángel Noguera, and the Airport Director, Carlos San Martín.
“This happy coincidence allows us to continue to unite culture, tourism and international promotion in a key year for the history of Murcia,” said Pacheco. “With this type of action, the City Council of Murcia continues its commitment to a celebration of the 1200th anniversary that combines historical memories, creativity and global projection.”article_detail
