Fuel prices dip to new lows since June with continued weekly drops
Petrol falls for fifth week and diesel for third, easing costs for drivers across Spain
Fuel prices in Spain have seen a welcome decline, hitting their lowest levels since mid-June as petrol drops for the fifth consecutive week and diesel falls for the third. According to the latest EU Oil Bulletin data, the average price per litre of diesel now stands at €1.394, down 0.14% from last week and firmly below the €1.40 mark. Petrol prices have also eased, with the average litre costing €1.464; a 0.13% decline compared to the previous week.
So far in 2025, petrol has become 4% cheaper than at the end of last year, while diesel prices have decreased by 3.4%. Despite this trend, filling an average 55-litre diesel tank costs about €76.67, just slightly more than the €76.61 it cost at this time last year. Meanwhile, for petrol users, filling a similar tank currently runs around €80.52, which is €2.36 less than the €82.88 recorded at the same point in 2024.
These gradual price drops provide some relief for Spanish drivers, although overall costs remain influenced by wider factors in the global oil markets. Still, the consistent slide in prices since June brings some welcome savings at the pump as autumn progresses.
