VIDEO: 20 people arrested in Malaga, Granada and Germany on drug offences
The Guardia Civil and National Police worked with the German police for the seizure of goods

In a joint operation with the German Police, 12 people have been arrested as alleged members of a criminal organisation dedicated to drug trafficking. The organisation was also found to have illegal weapons and large quantities of drugs.
According to a statement issued by the Guardia Civil this Wednesday October 23, the criminal gang was engaged in sending large quantities of amphetamines, hashish and marijuana from the Costa del Sol to Germany.
The investigation began last February, once the German police authorities were notified of these movements by the criminal group based in their country.
The police found that the main suspect made continuous trips to Spain, and that he frequently visited a property located in the municipality of Arriate (Málaga). The house was discovered to be a marijuana plantation. Those in charge of controlling and monitoring the plantation were several of those now arrested.
The main suspect subsequently returned to Germany with the intention of organising a transaction for a large quantity of amphetamines. However, thanks to international cooperation, the German authorities discovered that the criminal gang was about to complete the transaction, eventually arresting the leader of the group and six other partners in their country.
The operation continued a few days later in Spain, where Spanish agents dismantled the marijuana plantation established on the Andalusian farm, and ended up arresting five other people in the province of Málaga.
In the operation, a total of 50 kilos of amphetamines, 1,100 marijuana plants, 20 kilos of buds, 11 kilos of hashish, two handguns with ammunition, five vehicles and 33,000 euros were seized between the two countries.
Meanwhile, The Guardia Civil has dismantled in Atarfe one of the most important designer drug laboratories discovered so far in the province of Granada.
The criminal group had been producing speed, ketamine, ecstasy, MDMA, amphetamines, methamphetamines, poppers, hallucinogenic mushrooms and LSD. All of their products were then being sealed in tin cans.
During the exploitation phase, the Civil Guard seized four kilos of methamphetamine; 1.5 kilos of amphetamine; nine litres of liquid ketamine; 500 grams of solid ketamine; 400 grams of MDMA; 818 doses of ecstasy; 1 kilo of LSD; 1.5 kilos of MDMA rock; 32 grams of hallucinogenic mushrooms; 50 millilitres of poppers and 1,357 grams of hashish.
In addition to the drugs, the Civil Guard seized 11,000 euros in banknotes of various denominations, as well as four gold bars weighing 700 grams and numerous gold bracelets weighing 900 grams, with a market value of over 120,000 euros.
The operation was launched thanks to information obtained at rave parties where a criminal network was dedicated to the sale of designer drugs of different types.
The Civil Guard discovered the person who supplied the precursors to the head of the laboratory when German customs officials intercepted a drum from Holland at Cologne airport, containing five litres of a liquid that tested positive for amphetamine.
This individual had also been investigated by the DEA in Virginia (USA) as a member of an organisation that was dedicated to distributing synthetic drugs throughout the United States and Europe online.
Following this initial identification, EDOA investigators were able to give names and surnames to the various members of the group, as well as locate the location of the laboratory where the organisation produced different types of synthetic drugs.
The police then began dismantling the laboratory and highly toxic chemicals were seized and the residues of these substances ended up in the sewers, which posed a potential danger to the environment and to people.
The eight detainees have been brought before the court and three of them have been remanded in custody.
