Introduction to Hacienda Riquelme Golf Resort
The Hacienda Riquelme Golf Resort opened in 2007, consisting of 1,864 apartments laid out around a beautifully maintained golf course between the coastal town of San Javier and the City of Murcia in the east of the region. This Polaris World urbanization is fairly well occupied in the summer season, and the feeling of space on the 175-acre development is a noticeable improvement on some of the neighbouring projects in the heart of Murcia’s golf country.
The apartments were designed by Antonio Aleman Architects and supported by careful attention to landscape, developed by EDSA - the leading design company in America for tourist complexes. Like all the Polaris World Resorts, Hacienda Riquelme has 24-hour security patrols, entry control and CCTV coverage giving you total peace of mind.
As well as the beautiful golf course, there are two tennis courts, two paddle tennis courts, an outside gym, 5 lakes, six children’s play areas and 19 swimming pools serving the 78 apartment blocks.
At the centre of the development is the Casón, which now houses the resort centre and restaurant as well as a supermarket and the golf pro shop and there are several other courses within an easy drive.
The closest town to this urbanization is the small town of Sucina which offers the basic services and facilities needed for everyday living. Here you can enjoy the Spanish café life style with a choice of restaurants and café bars. Sucina has a central Church (“Nuestra Señora Del Rosario”) and community centre together with post office, supermarket, bank, opticians, medical center and bus connections. Market day is on Mondays.
The cities of Murcia and Cartagena can be easily reached within 30 minutes’ drive, with a host of historical sites and architecture as well an array of shopping facilities and cultural events.
The coastal towns of San Javier and San Pedro del Pinatar, which are approximately 15 minutes’ drive south, are ideal for water sports and beach activities. There is a good choice of restaurants and bars in San Pedro del Pinatar and Los Alcázares, with all manner of international cuisine to choose from.
