The Town Hall of Guardamar del Segura
The municipal padrón office, health department and documentary registration are all within this building
The main Town Hall building in Guardamar del Segura is an impressive structure which dominates the Plaza de la Constitución in the centre of town, looking out over a large square opposite the church of San Jaime Apóstol. An underground car park in the square means that even on market day (Wednesday) it is possible to leave the car right next door.
Inside are almost all of the services which can be provided by the council: on the ground floor, apart from the general information service, is the Padrón office, the documentary registration service and the health department (dealing with the SIP card, which provides access to public health services in the Comunitat Valenciana), while the first floor houses the departments of town planning, markets, the catastro property tax, social services and the environment. The Mayor’s and councillors’ offices are on the second floor, while the third floor contains the local development agency.
The building also includes an AMICS office on the ground floor, giving residents access to the mediation agency for social integration and coexistence.
Such is the international nature of the current population of Guardamar that all signs at the Town Hall are not only in Spanish and Valenciano, but also in English. Most staff are happy to deal with enquiries in English.
Opening Times:
The Town Hall offices are open to members of the public from Monday to Friday between 9.00 and 14.00.
